Aldean Says Country Is In A Good Place
Jason Aldean is one of the few acts in music in general who can pack a stadium. The superstar is out on the road on his own headlining run, in addition to teaming up with Kenny Chesney to co-headline stadium shows around the country this summer.
Jason says the fact that he, Kenny Chesney, Luke Bryan and Eric Church are packing such huge venues proves that today’s Country music is very healthy.
“Obviously, if you’ve got a few guys that can go out and and are filling stadiums, that’s a good sign of where the business is, the touring side of it for sure, and Country music. It’s a good sign for everybody, so a lot of us that kind of came up as younger artists kind of all hit about the same time — Miranda, Luke, me, Eric, Carrie — you know, all these artists that sort of came out and we were all like brand new artists. Well, now we’ve had 10 years of hits and things like that, and so it’s like I go out and listen to Kenny’s shows and he plays two hours. I know every song’s been a Number One. It’s like we haven’t had that luxury except for just recently, you know what I mean? We’ve had those years to kind of get some of those hits under our belt and sort of take over those headlining slots now. I think it’s in a good place. It’s fun to be a part of it.”
Jason and Kenny have a two-night stand at Target Field in Minneapolis, MN on July 18th and 19th.
