Canada’s Sweetheart

It’s hard to imagine Canada without Anne Murray.  She’s been on our musical landscape nearly 5 decades, and has won many awards, and achieved many “firsts”.  She is the first female solo singer to hit number 1 on the U.S. charts with “Snowbird”, from 1970.  She is the first woman, and the first Canadian to win, “Album of the Year” at the 1984 Country Music Association Awards, for her LP, “A Little Good News”.  Billboard Magazine ranked her 10th on their list of the, “50 Biggest AC Artists Ever”.  Even with her extensive resume, she still has to fight to get what she wants.  Have a listen to Anne Murray, as she describes working on her “Duets” album.  AnneMurrayonduetalbum
