One of the hall marks of the golden age of television is the “variety show”. Shows aimed at family entertainment, with something for everybody. One of the last true variety shows on the small screen was, “The Carol Burnett Show”. There was always a laugh from Tim Conway or Harvey Korman. Carol herself showed not only her funny side, but her ability to reach out and connect with an audience. The viewer was always left feeling good at the end of the show.
