He is the only person to be awarded stars in all 5 categories on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.  Gene Autry’s stars can be seen for film, television, music, radio and live performance.  From 1934 to 1953 he appeared in 93 films and 91 episodes of “The Gene Autry Show” on TV.  He is still considered one of the most important figures in Country Music and his “singing cowboy” movies brought Country Music to an international audience.  He wrote, “Here Comes Santa Claus”.  It was April of 1936 when he recorded his signature song, “Back in the Saddle Again”, he is a member of both the Country Music Hall of Fame and Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame.  Have a listen to this great country classic!
