Jordan Davis is closing in on the top of the country charts with his latest hit, “Tucson Too Late.”

He wrote the song with his brother Jacob Davis and brothers Josh and Matt Jenkins, the same team that wrote his hit song “Buy Dirt.”

But Jordan said the song was almost set in a different city in a different state, but Google changed that.

“Initially it was Tulane Too Late. I was thinking they were talking about the highway, like a two-lane highway,” recalls Jordan. “It turns out they were talking about the University of New Orleans, Tulane. So, then I just said, ‘Alright, this is way too confusing. We’ve got to fix this.’ So, (laughs) we googled T towns (laughs), and the first one that popped up was Tucson. So, there we go—‘Tucson Too Late.’”

In between dates on his own headlining Damn Good Time Tour, he’s also direct support for Luke Combs on several of his stadium dates.
