Dolly Parton On Her Induction To The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame
People are still asking Dolly Parton why she refused, and then accepted being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
It came up in a recent interview with Apple Music’s Proud Radio.
“I felt like I was taking votes from somebody that had spent a career trying to be in the Hall, and I thought ‘What am I doing in here?’ [I] felt like I was out of place, like I was betraying somebody else.”
Her opinion changed when the Hall told her she deserved it, AND the decision was already made.
“Then they explained [that] to me and said I was gonna get it anyway, so I thought ‘Well, I’m gonna accept it graciously’.”
