His debut LP, ‘Forever Took Too Long’ was released in 1999, and the first two singles reached top ten on the Canadian Country Singles chart. ‘There You Were’ and ‘Bit by Bit’ were the singles, and they led to a Juno nomination for Best Male Country Artist. He won the CCMA award for ‘Top Independent Male Artist of the Year’ and the SOCAN award for the ‘Most Played Country Song of the Year”.
John is also a Search and Rescue Helicopter Pilot with the Canadian Forces and has been stationed at CFB Gander. He flies both the Cormorant and the Griffin helicopters.
