Gord was born in Australia and moved to Alberta with his mother when he was just five.  He was fortunate to have lots of musical influence from an early age.  His mom was a singer with an Australian Country band, and she encouraged Gord to follow his heart and pursue a career in Country Music.

Initially, Gord was discouraged when his debut LP did not do as well as he had hoped.  He decided to concentrate on songwriting and building on his performing talents.

He moved to Nashville in 2003, and that turned out to be the right move.  He opened shows for Tim McGraw, Kenny Rogers and Don Williams.

In 2007, “Blame it on that Red Dress” became a top ten hit, and Gord’s fortunes had begun to change.
