In 1984, a group was formed with mostly session musicians, playing local clubs, and keeping the focus on a traditional Country sound.
Over the years, Shenandoah re-invented itself as various members left the group, and new players joined. They disbanded completely, more than once, re-formed, and carried on. Through all the changes, the band remained true to their Country roots.
“Church on Cumberland Road”, became their first number one hit, and held the top spot for two weeks. They became the first Country band to have their first top hit, hold that spot for more than one week.
Join me Saturday, October 27 at 9:20 for more with Shenandoah!
