His father was a part-time Country music artist, and he encouraged Vince to pick up a guitar. Young Vince did better than that, he also taught himself banjo, bass, mandolin, dobro and fiddle.
In high school, he was part of, “Mountain Smoke” and played in Ricky Skagg’s band.
Vince Gill was frontman for the band, “Pure Prairie League” and has been solo since 1983.
With more than 40 singles on the Country charts and over 26 million albums sold, Vince Gill has become a Country music legend in his own time.
Join me next Saturday, May 26 at 9:20, for more with Vince Gill!
