He believed in his own style, even though it was out of style in Nashville. Dwight Yoakam moved to Los Angeles to hone his style and play his music his way.
His first album, “Guitars, Cadillacs” was self financed, and on an independent label. It was a big risk, but it paid off and Yoakum’s rockin’ roll Country sound caught the attention of music fans around the globe, and soon the big record labels opened their doors.
